Askieza: Laŭr

Belgian Tripel

There are styles that require a very classical approach. They are very ascetic, restrained at the core, but thanks to these qualities they still exist quite successfully. One of such styles is, of course, Belgian tripel. And, as we all know, the best tripels have already been brewed long time ago. But Malanka would not be Malanka if it had not brought its own style to this tripel. Therefore, along with the classic malt bill of barley, oats and wheat, the abbey strain of Belgian yeast, we used quite atypical spices, and very sparingly added cardamom, cloves and allspice (this, by the way, is also done by the main “classic” representatives). But the king of this brew are aromatic bay leaves, by far our favorite spice addition. Askieza (“Asceticism”) is that very step a little to the side from the known paths, but not that far away so as not to lose your own way.
