Zappa hops belong to the neomexicanus group of North American hops. These varieties are quite rarely found among the ingredients of European beer. They grow wildly in the arid highlands of New Mexico. According to researchers, the varieties of neomexicanus have never been crossed with European hops, so this is a true wild grown variety. And finally we were able to brew beer with these wonderful hops. Zappa is named after famous American musician Frank Zappa. A wild and free variety, like music written by Frank, is hard to describe and compare with others. And all of it’s diversity is busrting in our beer: you can feel both fruity and citrusy notes of passion fruit and lemon, as well as piney and grassy unndertones with hints of mint, pepper and even garlic. A single-malt base of beer will not overload you palate and will give you the opportunity to fully understand the complexity of this unusual hops.
