Catharina Sour style appeared a couple of years ago in Brazil. This is a stronger variation of the already familiar Berliner Weisse, which is basically a tart wheat beer, but always with the addition of tropical fruits. In the homeland of the style, fresh and ripe exotic fruits are used for this beer, many of which are not even exported because of their delicate structure. In other countries more common fruits are added, as well as juices and purees from them. We decided to go the same way, and in our first try of the Catharina Sour style we used both mango juice and puree. The beer turned out to be pretty strong and refreshing, highly carbonated, while delicate acidity and rich smell and taste of mango ready to burst in your mouth with tropical flavours.
